			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I just wanted to let everyone know how everything is going in Genoa.</p>
<p>My family arrived on Sunday, June 26th. They had some apartment issues before and after arriving but finally settled in to a new apartment on Monday the 27th.</p>
<p>We have heard from them sporadicly via email and facebook as phoning and texting are quite expensive.</p>
<p>After meeting with Dr. Campisi, he was confident he would be able to help Michael. My sister also met some wonderful people in his office that she actually had followed on a blog before leaving. There are people from all over the world being treated there.</p>
<p>His wife and son (also a doctor) also work in his office as well. His youngest son is attending school here in the U.S. They are truly hoping at some point to bring this procedure to the U.S.</p>
<p>For the past two weeks Michael has been getting various compression and pump therapies for about 4 to 5 hours a day. His leg is already reduced by half the size it was prior to leaving! He is in the hospital this week for pre surgical testing. His operation is set for this Saturday, July 16th at 7:00 a.m. Genoa time. They are 6 hours ahead of us there.</p>
<p>I will update the site again after his surgery.</p>
<p>Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers!</p>

<p>It fills us with joy  to know how many wonderful friends, family and customers that we have. A task as large as this one wouldn&#8217;t be possible without the support of all involved.</p>

<p>I will keep you updated as to Michael&#8217;s status and progress. They will be leaving for Italy on June 25th.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Joe and I will be hosting a special benefit cooking class on June 6, 2011 at 6:30.</p>
<p>My 17 year old nephew, Michael Bibbo, is suffering from a possibly life threatening condition. He has severe progressive primary lymphedema. There is a surgery that can help him but it is not performed in the USA. My family has been referred to Prof. Corradino Campisi in Genoa, Italy. He has agreed to take Michael as a patient. The road block in front of my family is the expense. The cost for the surgery is $ 90,000.00. Their medical insurance does not cover him since the surgery would be performed overseas. That also does not include their travel or month long expenses while Michael is being treated. </p>
<p>My sister&#8217;s family and friends have created a website www.thebibbofund.com explaining Michael&#8217;s condition further and announcing a fundraiser they are having where they live.</p>
<p>Joe and I wanted to help them from within our community. We decided to a hold a special cooking class. The cost of the class will be $ 75.00 per person with the proceeds going to Michael&#8217;s fund. We are also having Prickly Pear t-shirts made which you will receive with the cost of the class.</p>
<p>We hope you can join us to help my nephew and to enjoy one of Prickly Pear&#8217;s best classes!</p>
